The last months
before martial law are associated with a
period of increasing nervousness, anxiety
and fear of an uncertain tomorrow. In the
work of Janusz Koman, this time sounds like
the perfect antidote to everyday worries. It
shines with rays of sunshine, emanates
warmth and peace. A previously unpublished
session with the participation of Andrzej
Olejniczak and Wiesław Wilczkiewicz for the
first time on an album! The material recorded in 1981 still sounds fresh and soothes all worries with its sound. Janusz Koman combined pop catchiness with jazz lightness here, which he always did perfectly. The songs flow unhurriedly, are full of extremely melodic themes and balanced solo performances. The material included on the album "Afternoon" was prepared on the basis of original tapes from the archives of Radio Poznań and remastered in Sweden by Andrzej Poniatowski. This is the third part of a series of albums documenting the achievements of Koman Band from the 1970s and 1980s, following the very well-received "Continuation" and "Sunny suite". (GAD Records) |
